The incident when Valya Harkonnen uses her voice is taken from the book “Dune Mentats”. In all three books, the development of Sisterhood, Mentats, Navigators and Doctors of Suk is interwoven. I don’t want to criticize only the first episode of the TV series, but this one was just average in every way. The acting was not up to par, with the exception of some famous actors such as Mark Strong, Emily Watson, Olivia Williams and possibly Travis Fimmel.
The story was very loose, and the dialogues were not worthy
The rest of the actors looked like they just came out of the film academy or something like that. I love slow dramas that take forever to make because I know it’s worth the wait. But this episode was not just slow, there was a lot going on, but it was just boring, I don’t know how else to say it. The soundtrack, which was not very good in the films, was cut a little here, familiar sounds appeared here and there, but the time was chosen inappropriately.
My question: did he like it at all, what was done?
I listened to a lot of music here, but it had no effect. I remember how long in the movies people were just talking, and then – boom – Hans Zimmer did his magic, and I was so excited. But I know that he was not involved in these noises, and I don’t even need to check. I am not sure if Denis Villeneuve participated in this production, I hope not.
Food for thought
Will such a regular TV show after two epic films affect the long-awaited third film? The reason I’m wondering is because Penguin was so good that I appreciated Batman even more than I did after watching it, and I can’t wait for the second movie. So how will Dune: The Prophecy affect the third film, if at all?
