The director of the previous two films, Paul King, decided not to direct this installment
Chronology
Paddington returns to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now lives at the Bear Retirement Home. With the Brown family at the helm, an exciting adventure ensues when a mystery takes them on an unexpected journey.
However, he pitched the idea for this third film and served as executive producer
Starring Graham Norton and guests: Billy Crystal/Emily Mortimer/Hugh Bonneville/Pharrell Williams/Michael Kiwanuka (2024). Paddington in Peru is a great, enjoyable film, but it is the weakest of the 3 Paddington films.
I still had a good time watching this
It looks great on the big screen, the scenery and locations are beautiful, and the CGI of the bears looks great. The acting and story are good, nothing revolutionary or better than the previous two films, but the charm of those two is missing from this third one.
It had some funny moments and is a fun family film
It’s a little silly at times, which would have worked if the charm was there. Overall, still a great film that’s worth seeing in the cinema.
