Lashana’s performance is unfortunately a glaring weakness in this otherwise brilliant adaptation of The Jackal
I read through the reviews to see if anyone else noticed how off the portrayal of the female lead was and was surprised to see many others felt the same way. Her facial expressions are stiff, her delivery is not authentic, and her acting destroys the haunting tension of an otherwise exceptional crime thriller.
That being said, the series itself is a masterpiece of suspense
While I haven’t seen her other work and she could shine in other roles, her acting here seems amateurish and out of place. The narrative is gripping, the pacing is gripping, and the rest of the cast delivers top-notch performances.
If you’re a fan of crime thrillers, this is still absolutely worth your time
Aside from Lashana’s shortcomings, the overall production and suspenseful plot make it an unforgettable experience.
